Structures of amber

Amber is not only yellow or transparent. They obtain their fame from the rich variety of colors, forms, sizes and kinds. Here I present Baltic ambers in order dependent at the level of transparency: transparent, transluscent, opaque, amber with a haze, white, blue, the rowan amber and slag. Amber is still alive, because it still changes. That is why we have red ambers or sometimes they may be covered with weathered surface or barnacles and the skeletons of bryozoa. As an interesting fact I added Dominican amber on the end, because it is characteristic from its blue fluorescence.

It is an exctract from the vast collection of Museum of Amber in Jaroslawiec (Poland), which you are welcome to visit the whole year!
